MYOFASCIAL
Myofascial Release* represents an important dimension in the health care profession.
Fascia is a tough connective tiissue that has an elastic, a collagenous or plastic component and a matirx or ground substance that under normal conditions is a gelatinous-like substance. However threw trauma, inflammatory processes and poor posture over time, cross restrictions can occur within the fascia, and the viscosity of this substance can become solidified and shortened, ultimately pulling on pain sentitive areas that create symptoms of pain, or restriction of motion.
Fascia surronds and infuses every system of the body all the way down to the cellular level. Fascia can create tensile forces of over 2000 lbs/sq in. when restricted.
